Harlequin by Jonathan Wood

Jonathan Wood’s novella is free over at Smashwords.  I know you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but the cover to this book has sold it to me.

It’s been over thirty years since the day Harlequin terrified Jeff Devers as a child in that old dark garage, a day he remembers only as a haze. The pathological fear of clowns which resulted and followed Jeff into adulthood is the demon that forever stalks him from the shadows. Decades after that terrible event as his neighbours are throwing an outdoor summer birthday party for their six year old daughter Amy, Jeff discovers to his horror that somehow, Harlequin has returned…and only he can stop him.
