Cannibals, Cannibalism, Consumption and Culture
Cannibals, Cannibalism, Consumption and Culture is two-day interdisciplinary conference that will explore humanity’s relationships with, and attitudes towards, cannibalism. The conference which is being held in Manchester from 25 – 26 April 2013 has put out an open call for academic papers for a 20 minute talk on the subject.
Possible topics include:
Cannibalism in Popular Culture, Cannibalism as Cultural Metaphor, Taboos, Survival and Necessity, Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies – A Question of Species? Rites, Rituals and Sacrifice and Serial killers (in life and in fiction) amongst others.
