Wild Justice contains eighteen stories tied together by the theme of revenge. For a themed anthology to work there has to be a good spread of styles and takes on the theme. With a roster of names such as Christopher Fowler, Pat Cadigan, Richard Christian Matheson, Thomas Tessier, and David J Schow you can be sure that this anthology will be varied enough for even the most discerning reader.
On the whole this is a good anthology, there are a few stand out tales, A Flock of Pink Flamingos is a good tale that takes a much more light hearted take on the the revenge theme. Christopher Fowler’s Unforgotten, sees Chris on familiar ground with mixing a great mystery with the streets of London.
However, Wild Justice is let down by the number of stories that just didn’t work for me personally, Foreign Bodies is a prime example of this, a great idea, with some very good writing, but by the time I had finished reading it I was left feeling cold.
