>World Book Day

>

Today is World Book Day.  To celebrate I asked a number of author friends what book they would most like to receive as part of the World Book Day Million Book Give away.

The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe, the Gustave Dore Elephant folio edition
The Necronomicon by Abdul Alhazred, so I can send a flock of Night Gaunts to visit the rudest man I have ever spoken to on a phone (at the tax office).

If I couldn’t have that, I’d go for:

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee – 1st Edition Signed !!
Ringu by Koji Suzuki.
The Bible, 1st ed. signed by Jesus.
SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE signed by Vonnegut.

  1. >I didn't know that Dore illustrated any of Poe's works — that WOULD be a fantastic one to have! But Daniel Russell's was hilarious — signed by Jesus 😉 While the Necronomicon is certainly tempting, aside from the purposes of getting revenge on people at the tax office, there's a rumoured Devil's Bible that the History Channel did a documentary on. I would love to get a look at that. That or an authentic version of the Roman de La Rose by de Lorris. What about you, Jim?D
